Best ytmp3 & Tunebat Alternative for Producers (Free, No Ads)
If you've been using ytmp3 to grab beats off YouTube and Tunebat to figure out their BPM and key - you know the drill. Two tabs, two tools, waiting twice. BeatDL does both in a single step, for free, with no ads.
What's wrong with ytmp3?
ytmp3 and similar converters get the job done, but they come with a few frustrations producers know well:
- Aggressive ads and pop-ups - most ytmp3 clones are loaded with redirects and sketchy ad networks
- No audio analysis - you get the file but still need to figure out BPM and key separately
- Quality caps - many sites cap at 128 kbps; BeatDL exports at 320 kbps MP3 or lossless WAV
- No WAV option - most converters are MP3-only
What's wrong with Tunebat?
Tunebat is great for looking up BPM and key of tracks already on Spotify or Apple Music. But it has real limitations for producers working with YouTube beats:
- You have to download first, then analyze separately - two separate workflows
- Can't detect detuning - many beats are slightly off standard pitch; Tunebat won't tell you that

How it works
Paste any YouTube URL into BeatDL and hit Go. Within a few seconds you get:
- The audio file - MP3 at 320 kbps or WAV at source quality, your choice
- BPM - detected via multi-band onset analysis; shows top 5 candidates with confidence
- Musical key - detected via FFT chroma analysis (Krumhansl-Schmuckler algorithm); shows both relative minor and major
- Tuning offset - if the beat is detuned by 10 cents or more, BeatDL shows you exactly how many cents off it is (e.g. +48¢)
When is the detuning info actually useful?
A lot of producers intentionally detune their beats - sometimes by a full semitone, sometimes by an odd amount like 30 or 48 cents. If you record vocals in "standard" key over a detuned beat, your voice will sound slightly off when mixed. BeatDL's tuning offset tells you exactly how much to pitch-shift your DAW project or your vocal before recording.
Neither ytmp3 nor Tunebat surface this information at all.
